Practical AI for teams under pressure to show a return.

I help organisations find the (often) unglamorous problems where AI genuinely pays off. I focus on high-value but low-risk bottlenecks. Then I prove the ROI before scaling up.

Why I do this

Most AI projects fail for the same reason most technology projects fail: the problem wasn’t clear before the solution was built.

Bringing clarity is what I do.

For 30 years I’ve helped users, teams and people signing cheques see complicated things clearly. Right now, nothing in business is more complicated and confounding than AI. So this is where I spend my time.

About

I’m Colman. I’ve been making complicated things clear since 1999.

I’ve worked in UX and product teams for my entire career, from the west coast of the United States to the east coast of Ireland.

Since 2013 I’ve been CEO of UX Design Institute, helping a community of over 15,000 designers learn their trade.

I take on a small number of projects each year, helping teams find solutions to their thorniest problems.
